From mid-March to April 2019 widespread flash flooding affected large parts of Iran. Iran has been hit by three major waves of rain and flooding which led to at least 70 people who died nationwide as of 6 April, according to the officials. We know from experience that many multiples of that will be affected.
The International Cooperative Alliance (ICA) has in recent years served as a channel for donations from our members who wish to provide support for the recovery effort from such terrible events. We did so most recently for the cyclones that hit Mozambique this year.
We have been in communication with our member, the Iran Chamber of Cooperatives (ICC). They have shared with us a project for humanitarian assistance which you can view here.
