On 5 October 2021, The International Cooperative Alliance (ICA) in collaboration with the Italian Cooperative Alliance organised the C20 Summit Side Event with the title "The Cooperative Model as an Expression of Civil Society for an Inclusive and Sustainable Recovery".
Organised during the G20 Civil Society 20 (C20) Summit 2021, the event aims to raise awareness about the contribution of the cooperative model - as an expression of civil society - to the implementation of the 2030 Agenda and sustainable development and its contribution towards economic growth to reduce poverty and inequality and providing decent employment as well as promoting gender equality. This side event was an opportunity for cooperatives to share their story, best practices and build networks with other civil society organizations supporting the C20 and G20 agenda going forward.
