On 27 - 29 July 2021 the International Cooperative Alliance-Asia Pacific (ICA-AP), within the framework of ICA-EU partnership, and in collaboration with the ICA-AP Committee on Youth Cooperation (ICYC) and the ICA Domus Trust organised the third edition of the Asia Pacific Cooperative Youth Summit (APCYS 3.0). with the theme ‘Celebrating Youth as Torchbearers of the Cooperative Identity.’
Over 3,500 registrants from 23 Countries – Bangladesh, Brazil, Cambodia, Cameroun, CANADA, China, India, Indonesia, Iran, Japan, Kenya, KIRIBATI, Malaysia, Mongolia, Myanmar, Nepal, New Zealand, Philippines, Singapore, South Korea, Sri Lanka, Uganda, and Vietnam were joined virtually in this event.
30 speakers from 16 countries were featured in the Summit. UN Australian Representative to UN Women's Generation Equality Youth Task Force, Ms. Zahra Al-Hilaly, delivered the keynote address at the opening ceremony and highlighted the need for equitable representation of youth in decision making and in ensuring that youth voices are being heard.
The event consists of various sessions with topics ranged from Spotlight on Coop Youth Entrepreneurs, Student Cooperative Clubs in Asia and Pacific, A Talk by Youth Entrepreneur, Panel Discussion on Enabling Environment for Youth in Cooperatives, and Coop Pitch 2021, a key highlight of APCYS 3.0.
