The ICA welcomed three new members in September: Asociación de Cooperativas Argentinas Limitada (ACA C.L.) from Argentina, Cooperativa de Servicios Multiples el Tumi (Cooperativa el Tumi) from Peru and North West Cooperative Association Ltd (NWCA LTD) from Cameroon.
ACA C.L. is a second-tier cooperative with 140 member cooperatives, dedicated to the commercialisation of grains and their derivatives, both for the local and international market, and to the supply of agriculture inputs.
NWCA is an apex of a three-tiered cooperative network with 35,000 small holder peasant farmers. The farmers are grouped into 43 cooperatives and 13 secondary cooperative unions spread throughout 34 subdivisions of the North West region of Cameroon. NWCA’s objective is production, processing and marketing of coffee. They are involved in the coffee value chain from farm to shelf. NWCA has exported green coffee for over 30 years and are now one of the biggest production, processing and marketing cooperative networks in Cameroon.
The cooperative el Tumi provides financial and other services to its’ members all around the country. Their members can be those who are members or workers of a Public or Private Entity and who have a current payroll discount agreement with them. Their main services are loans and life insurance.
