The International Cooperative Alliance (ICA) welcomed a new member from Serbia in March: the General Cooperative Alliance for Agriculture and Rural Development, based in Belgrade.
The organisation includes 25 cooperatives and associations, which it promotes and supports through a series of events, training sessions and collaborations with agricultural institutes. As a cooperative union that inherited the Cooperative Federation of Yugoslavia, it also works closely with the cooperative unions of Northern Macedonia, Bosnia and Herzegovina, Croatia and Slovenia. It joined the ICA to exchange knowledge and information related to the development of cooperatives.
The ICA’s new membership statistics are therefore: 318 member organisations of which 276 are full members and 42 are Associate Members from 112 countries.
